Attachment-Focused EMDR
(AF-EMDR)
How It Helps You Actually HEAL, and Experience Real, Meaningful Change.
-
EMDR is a structured therapy method that helps people process and heal from distressing memories or experiences. We specifically focus on the relationship you have with yourself and those around you. With this, you'll have renowned self-esteem, have deep meaningful friendships, and heal your fears with romantic relationships, and be open to love.
-
AF-EMDR is targeted processing meaning is very specific in addressing past relational traumas whether it be mother or father wounds.
EMDR's use of bilaterial stimulation allows for more efficient processing. Research has shown that 1 EMDR session is equivalent to 8 Talk Therapy Sessions. When we're considering a typical therapy thats 1 week: 8 weeks!
You have the opportunity for deeper emotional healing, and rewire the way you relate to others.
You can achieve reduced emotional distress where you may remember a not-so-fun memory from your past but instead of feeling your chest tighten or a sense of gloom, you recognize it as part of your history.
You can reinforce positive beliefs about yourself and the world that actually feel true and not just an affirmation list.
It can feel hard to articulate your emotions about a particular wound - that's okay. With EMDR, you don't have to verbalize every single detail of the memory for it to be effective.
AF-EMDR is a holistic approach: it integrates the mind and body by using both cognitive and physiological methods to address trauma, which can be more comprehensive compared to the cognitive focus of traditional talk therapy.

AF-EMDR helps heal people-pleasing, perfectionism, and procrastination by building self-worth that isn’t reliant on others' approval, encouraging self-acceptance, lowering unrealistic standards, boosting confidence, and reducing fear of failure.
